Time Span Required For Learning Guitar

For all the guitar freaks out there, it is a dream to play the instrument as skilfully as their rock idols. They want to do this not only to impress others but also for their personal satisfaction and to fulfil their dream in an efficient way. But, it is not possible to learn this art, unless one has the passion inside to do so.

The time it takes to learn how to play guitar may vary from person to person. More importantly, it depends upon the amount of passion of the person, who is willing to learn this skill. The learner should understand one thing clearly that listening to music is totally different from playing it, as it will not only require from you to keep your ears open, but also will demand your time, attention, continuous practice and sometimes even burning finger tips. But in the end, the satisfaction is worth all the effort.

It is a common perception that mastering the art of guitar playing takes years and years, which is true to some extent. But there is good news for those who have a passion for this art but cannot take out much time due to their busy schedules. There are various techniques using which guitar can be learnt in a comparatively shorter span of time.

Nowadays, learners start playing songs on a guitar only in a month by practicing the major and minor chords, and progressions with the help of music theory. One can play songs only in a month, if there is a strong will power and quest for learning.

Learning how to play guitar is just like learning anything new. It is a new and refreshing experience for every music lover. Just like when a baby starts walking, he starts developing his leg muscles, a guitarist experiences a maturity in the muscles of fingers, as new movements of fingers and finger tips is required. In the start, it may seem very difficult and even impossible sometimes, but playing guitar is a skill which requires practice in order to achieve perfection.

Regular gym exercises make the muscles strong; similar is the case with guitar. Consistent practice makes the finger muscles stronger and harder, so that guitarists can easily make the required movements. Purchasing or grabbing a guitar does not make learners into superstars for becoming perfectionists; learners will have to go through the many phases of learning.

In the beginning, there should be one string practice; for self-encouragement, easy and favourite songs should be selected. Learners should not jump from one string to another at initial level; they should move to the next one after achieving full command on one string.

String exercise will give learners a practice and skill to play songs, which require multi-string usage. Sooner or later, learners will start performance in front of friends or gatherings. Even after learning to play a guitar, there should be time given to practicing, as practice makes one perfect.
