Taylor Swift will make a concert stop in Philadelphia as her ‘Fearless’ concert tour kicks off another leg in 2010. Teaming up in Philly with Swift will be fellow country star Kellie Pickler as the two light up the Wachovia Center.
Taylor’s second album, titled “Fearless”, garnered the highest debut of any country album after it’s release in 2008. The album had more than one hit single, including “White Horse” and “Love Story”, and established her as not only a country music star but a rising crossover artist. Her appeal across genres was recognized by the Academy for Country Music for her ability to attract younger fans to country music. Swift was also nominated for country music’s Entertainer of the Year, the youngest artist to ever accomplish that. Her first two albums are also the highest selling digital downloads in history.
The Wachovia Center is the home of the NBA’s Philadelphia 76′ers. It also acts as a venue for concerts and other large community events. It’s within two miles of Citizens Bank Ballpark and Lincoln Financial Field. Society Hall, the Philadelphia Art Museum and dozens of top of the line restaurants are also nearby. Those who aren’t in the mood to eat at a fancy restaurant can always opt for a famous cheesesteak.
The city of Philadelphia has a lot to offer when it comes to history and entertainment, including century-old streets, the infamous liberty bell, great food, and competitive sports teams. There is plenty to do before and/or after any concert.
It’s easy to find the Wachovia Center; when traveling in from I-95, just take the Broad Street exit once you’re in the city of Philadelphia. There are eight parking lots (all brightly lit) at the Wachovia Center, and all of the parking lots are monitored by security.
